(if time)

Engine failure during flight

1. Airspeed best glide 65
2. Carb heat on
3. Fuel selector both
4. Mixture rich
5. Ignition both(start if prop stopped)
6. Primer in and locked

Question 4

Emergency landing no power

Answer 4

1. Best glide 65
2. Mixture idle
3. Fuel selector off
4. Ignition off
5. Flaps as required 30 recommended
6. Master off
7. Doors unlatch
8. Touchdown tail low
9. Brakes heavy

Question 5

Precautionary landing with power

Answer 5

1. Flaps 20
2. 60 kts flaps best glide
3. Flyover retract flaps safe altitude and airspeed
4. Avionics off
5. Flaps 30
6. Airspeed flaps best glide
7. Master off
8. Doors unlatch
9. Touchdown tail low
10. Ignition off
11. Brakes heavy

Question 6

Fire on ground during start

Answer 6

1. Continue cranking
2. Power 1700 rpm for a few minutes.
3. Shutdown inspect for damage
   If engine fails to start
4. Throttle full
5. Mixture cutoff
6. Continue cranking
7. Obtain fire extinguisher
8. Master magneto fuel selector off
9. Extinguish fire
10. Inspect for damage

Question 7

Engine fire in flight

Answer 7

1. Mixture cutoff
2. Fuel selector off
3. Master off
4. Cabin heat and air off
5. 100 kias (increase until fire goes out)
6. Forced landing

Question 8

Electrical fire in flight

Answer 8

1. Master
2. Avionics off
3. All other switches off
4. Vents/cabin heat/air
5. Use fire extinguisher
6. Vent cabin
7. Master switch on
8. Check for faulty circuit do not turn on
9. Radio off
10. Avionics on
11. Electrical switches on one at a time
12. Open vents cabin air/heat

Question 9

Cabin fire

Answer 9

1. Master off
2. Vents/cabin air/heat closed
3. Extinguish fire
4. Land and insoect for damage ASAP
