Engine failure during take-off:
A
- throttle closed
- Maximum braking
if insufficient runway:
- fuel selector valve off
- Battery, alternator and mags off.

Engine failure after lift-off or in flight:
A
- Maintain directional control
- Blue line speed
- Power up (mix, pitch and full throttle)
- Clean up (gear up and flaps up)
- identify and verify and feather (dead foot dead engine, verify dead engine).
- engine securing procedures: Mix cut-off, fuel selector off, aux pump off, mags off, alternator off, cowl flaps closed.
- monitor electrical load (max 1.0 on remaining engine)

Air start procedure:
A
- Fuel selector - on
- throttle - set 1/4 open
- mix - full rich below 5000ft, 1/2 open above 5000ft
- aux pump - on low
- mags - on
- Propeller: move propeller forward of the feather detent to midrange and engage starter to unfeather. If it fails to start let the propeller windmill with mix in cut-off. when it starts, move mix to full rich
- Adjust mix, prop and throttle
- Fuel pump off when reliable engine power is regained
- alternator - on
- oil pressure - check
- warm up engine at 2000rpm.

- mix control - cut-off
- continue crank affected engine
- fuel selector - off
- battery and alternator - off
- extinguish with fire extinguisher

- RH aux pump - low
- Left fuel selector - off
- Right fuel selector - crossfeed
- Right fuel pump - low or off as required
