Question 1

Engine failure during take-off:

1. throttle closed
2. Maximum braking

if insufficient runway:

1. fuel selector valve off
2. Battery, alternator and mags off.

Question 2

Engine failure after lift-off or in flight:

Answer 2

1. Maintain directional control
2. Blue line speed
3. Power up (mix, pitch and full throttle)
4. Clean up (gear up and flaps up)
5. identify and verify and feather (dead foot dead engine, verify dead engine).
6. engine securing procedures: Mix cut-off, fuel selector off, aux pump off, mags off, alternator off, cowl flaps closed.
7. monitor electrical load (max 1.0 on remaining engine)

Question 3

Air start procedure:

Answer 3

1. Fuel selector - on
2. throttle - set 1/4 open
3. mix - full rich below 5000ft, 1/2 open above 5000ft
4. aux pump - on low
5. mags - on
6. Propeller: move propeller forward of the feather detent to midrange and engage starter to unfeather. If it fails to start let the propeller windmill with mix in cut-off. when it starts, move mix to full rich
7. Adjust mix, prop and throttle
8. Fuel pump off when reliable engine power is regained
9. alternator - on
10. oil pressure - check
11. warm up engine at 2000rpm.

Question 4

Engine fire on ground:

1. mix control - cut-off
2. continue crank affected engine
3. fuel selector - off
4. battery and alternator - off
5. extinguish with fire extinguisher

Engine fire in flight:

1. fuel selector - off
2. mix cut-off
3. prop - feather
4. aux pump - off
5. mags -off
6. alternator - off

Question 6

Emergency descent:

1. props - forward max 2625rpm
2. throttles - closed
3. speed 153 knots
4. gear - down
5. flaps - 10 degrees

Question 7

Crossfeed left engine inop:

1. RH aux pump - low
2. Left fuel selector - off
3. Right fuel selector - crossfeed
4. Right fuel pump - low or off as required
