Emergency Procedures Flashcards
Emergency engine shutdown (procedure)
OEI airspeed … ESTABLISH
ENG MAIN switch … IDLE , CHECK, THEN OFF
FADEC switch … REMAIN ON
Twist grip … TURN TO MIN FUEL, CHECK , THEN OFF
Inflight restart (procedure)
Collective … OEI MCP or below
Electrical consumption … REDUCE
ENG MAIN switch … OFF
FADEC switch … ON
ENG MODE SEL switch … NORM
Prime pump … ON
Twist grip … Neutral (N)
ENG MAIN switch … FLIGHT
Engine overspeed - driveshaft failure (procedure)
OEI airspeed … ESTABLISH
Affected engine … IDENTIFY & EMERGENCY SHUTDOWN
Engine overspeed - governing failure (procedure)
Collective … RAISE TO MAINTAIN NR WITHIN LIMITS
Affected engine … IDENTIFY AND ADJUST TWIST GRIP TO 20-30% TQ
ENG MODE SEL switch … MAN
** Reduce throttle before fully lowering collective **
Engine oil temperature high (procedure)
Airspeed … INCREASE
If temp decreases below limit:
Land as soon as PRACTICABLE.
If temp stays above limit:
OEI airspeed … ESTABLISH
Affected engine … IDENTIFY
Engine main switch … IDLE
If oil temp still above limit:
Emergency engine shutdown … PERFORM
Land as soon as PRACTICABLE.
Electrical fire / short circuit (procedure)
Both BUS TIE switches … OFF
Voltage and amps … NOTE HIGHER LOAD
BAT MSTR switch … OFF
If fire / smoke continues:
GEN switch (higher load) … OFF
If fire / smoke continues:
Both GEN switches … ON
Other GEN switch … OFF
If fire / smoke continues:
Both GEN switches … OFF
Land as soon as POSSIBLE.
Tail rotor failure - forward flight (FS procedure)
Collective … REDUCE TO MINIMIZE SIDESLIP
Airspeed … MAINTAIN 70+ KTS
Shallow approach … PERFORM
Airspeed… MAINTAIN 40 KTS
Nose left: Slow run-on landing with engine power applied.
Nose right: Retard one throttle to idle. Decel with cyclic, slightly reduce collective, retard second throttle. Manage yaw with throttle, cushion with collective.
Abnormal vibrations during flight (procedure)
Land as soon as POSSIBLE.
Cyclic trim failure / runaway (procedure)
Cyclic force trim button … HOLD
TRIM ACT circuit breaker … PULL
