Chronic bronchitis symptoms
-chronic cough
-increased mucous
-chronic cyanosis complexion
-frequent clearing of throat
-shortness of breath (SOB) less than with emphysema
-typically overweight
Signs/symptoms of angina
-chest pain or pressure
-SOB
-nausea and/or vomiting
-anxiety
-excessive swelling
-complaints of indigestion
Signs/symptoms of stroke
-Altered LOC
-Facial Droop
-Paralysis/weakness
-speech slurred or absent
-incontinence
-eyes/pupils deviated, visual disturbance, unequal pupils
Cardiac arrest electrical rhythms
Shockable rhythms
-Ventricular fibrillation
-pulseless ventricular tachycardia(VT or V-tach)
-Ventricular Tachycardia
-pulseless ventricular tachycardia
Non-shockable rhythms
-A-systole (flatline)
-pulseless electrical activity (PEA)
How to treat burns
-apply oxygen
-cool burn with cool water/saline
-remove/loosen material on burn area that may become tight if swelling occurs, do not remove material stuck to burn
-if BSA >10% cover area with clean/dry sterile dressing
-if BSA <10% use clean/sterile moist dressing
-keep patient warm
-continue to monitor ABCs treat for shock

-Pulse(rate,rhythm,volume)
-Blood pressure(delegates)
-Respirations(rate,rhythm,volume)
-Pupil check (pupils equal and reactive to light)
-Skin temperature
-skin condition
-obtains chief complaint
-obtains baseline and records time

-spinal column
-chest (breathing difficulty)
-pelvis (major blood loss)
-femur/lower legs (moderate to serious blood loss)
-upper extremities (minor blood loss)
