When is a multi engine aircraft required to carry life jackets?
1 life jacket per occupant when over water more than 50NM from land
When do RPT or charter aircraft need to carry life jackets?
If take off or landing is over water and is it reasonably possible that a mishap would result in the aircraft landing on the water
When do passengers need to wear the life jackets
When operating over water below 2000ft except for take off and landings
When is a multi engine turbine aircraft required to carry a life raft? How about other aircraft
Multi engine turbine when 120min at normal cruising speed for 400NM from land, whichever is less
Or
Other aircraft 30min normal cruising speed or 100 NM whichever is less
If a life raft is required to be carried, what else must be carried?
At least 1 approved ELT or portable ELT
Where must the ELT be carried if it is required?
In or adjacent to the life raft
Adjacent to the emergency exit
If PLB can be on the person
Regarding ELTs, when must a PIC not fly
If the ELT has not successfully undergone the periodic testing and inspection recommended by the manufacturer
When must a portable megaphone be carried?
RPT or charter, capacityof more than 60 seats and carrying at least 1 passenger.
What survival equipment must be carried?
Equipment for sustaining life appropriate to the area being overflown
What are the emergency lighting requirements when flying below 1000ft with passengers on board?
Emergency lighting system must be on, or cabin lights on with the emergency lighting system armed
Assignment of emergency duties
Where appropriate, PIC engaged in charter and RPT Ops shall assign crew members duties to perform in an emergency or evacuation
