Epinephrine (adrenaline)
Anaphylaxis:
0.5mg 1:1,000 IM
Cardiac arrest:
1mg 1:10,000 IV
Hydrocortisone
Anaphylaxis/angioedema:
200mg IV
Asthma exacerbation:
100mg IV
Thyroid storm:
100mg IV
Chlorphenamine
Anaphylaxis:
10mg IV (IM possible too)
Atropine
Bradycardia post mI:
500µg every 3-5mins
(max 3mg)
Aspirin
MI:
300mg chewed or dispersed in water
Baby dose: 75mg
Clopidogrel
MI:
300mg PO
Baby dose: 75mg
Calcium Gluconate
Hyperkalaemia:
30ml of 10% solution IV over 5-10mins (slow IV injection)
(6.6mmol in total)
Insulin/Dextrose Infusion
Hyperkalaemia:
0.9% NaCl 100mL with
- 10 units of Actrapid (soluble insulin)
- 50% glucose 50mL
over 15mins
Hypoglycaemia
Mild:
Glucojuice or 5-7 dextrose tablets
Moderate:
1. 2 tubes of glucose gel squeezed into mouth
2. 50ml/hr of 20% IV glucose
Severe:
1. Stop IV insulin if in place
2. 100ml 20% glucose over 10-15mins
3. 1mg IM glucagon
Diazepam
Status epilepticus:
10mg IV at rate of 1mL/5mg per min
Lorazepam
Status epilepticus:
4mg (IV/IO) into large vein
(repeat dose again if seizure hasn’t stopped in 5 mins)
Salbutamol Nebuliser
Asthma/COPD exacerbation:
5mg at 5L/min of o2
Prednisolone
Asthma:
40mg PO
COPD:
30mg PO
GCA:
60mg PO
UC/Crohns:
40mg PO
Morphine
MI:
5-10mg IV (Slow IV injection - administered at 2mg/min)
Elderly: 2.5-5mg IV
Similar for analgesia
Naloxone
Opiate OD:
0.4mg/400µg IV every 2 mins
can go up to 2mg if no response
Nasal:
1.8mg
