Dopamine/Inotropin
Vasoconstriction (vasopressor) : increases vasomotor tone.
Digitalis (digoxin)
Cardiotonic; increases cardiac contractility
given for a. fib
usually in combination with ACE inhibitor and a diuretic.
Epinephrine
Vasopressor; adrenergic stimulant
dobutamine/Dobutrex

norepinephrine

hydralazine
vasodilator - can use in conjunction to counteract vasopressors
nitroprusside/Nipride

labetalol hydrochloride
vasodilator - can use in conjunction to counteract vasopressors
Captopril (capoten)
ACE inhibitor
will decrease blood pressure
used in heart failure
Serum digoxin level should be
1
ACE inhibitors –> Angioedema = manifested by:
perioral, facial, epiglottal, and extremity swelling.
digitalis toxicity: early s/s
GI s/s, confusion and fatigue
