Emergencies (drill) Flashcards
L/R FUEL PRESS LO
[RED] 2 Triggers & Actions
- Mechanical low pressure fuel pump < 10 PSI ± 1
- Sensor at fuel filter < 1 PSI
…………………..
1) Standby pump : ON
if annunc. not extinguished :
2) Maintain min. safe ALTITUDE
3) LAND nearest suitable airport
- Max 10 hrs on fuel press low
- Monitor oil temp (shared shaft wt. mechanical low pressure fuel pump)*
L/R OIL PRESS LO
Oil pressure failure in engine < 60 PSI in supply line
…………………..
1) Oil pressure gage : Confirm < 60 PSI
60-90 PSI : Undesirable
* DO NOT EXCEED 2000 FT-LBS TORQUE
Note : expect erratic TQ readings.
if confirmed - BELOW 60 PSI : Unsafe
2) SECURE engine (or) LAND at nearest suitable airpot
* Use minimum power required
(separate line to gauge for redundancy)
L/R BL AIR FAIL
- EVA tubing (bleed-air failure warning line) melted (700°F) or failed
- Bleed valves power closed > System is offline
…………………..
1) Bleed air valve : INST & ENVIR OFF
2) MONITOR engine instruments
- Monitor while shutting off bleed air valve : ITT should decrease & TQ increase. If valve not properly closed = Fire hazard.
P3 18 PSI pressure low
CABIN ALT HI
(or)
Cabin decompression
[RED] Trigger & Action
Cabin altitude > 10,000’
…………………..
1) Oxygen control : PULL ON
2) Cabin oxygen control : PULL ON
3) Crew : DON masks
4) Mask selector switch : EMERG (fire) / 100% (pressu)
5) Mic selector switch : MASKS
PF : Emergency descent (rate/range)
TOC - FL250 : 3-5 min
TOC - FL180 : +30 min
CABIN DIFF HI
Cabin pressure differential > 5.25 PSI
…………………..
1) Bleed air valves : ENVIR OFF
L/R ENVIR FAIL
- Environmental air duct over-temperature (500°F ±10)
- Over-pressure sensed at the ACM (40 PSI ±1), or at either engine bleed-air port (44 PSI ±1)
…………………..
1) Bleed air valve : ENVIRO OFF > OPEN
if ENVIR FAIL annunc. remains :
2) Bleed air valve : ENVIRO OFF
- Both sides ENVIR FAIL probably means P3 regulator failure (confirm with gauges) = Might result in a L/R BK DEICE
P3 18 PSI pressure low
L & R AC BUS
- AC bus has inoperative inverter : inverter may have failed
- Short on AC bus : Lack of power to 115 VAC bus
…………………..
1) Attitude & Heading : use STANDBY instruments
CABIN / CARGO DOOR
Cabin door open, or not secure.
…………………..
1) Occupants : Seated wt. seatbelts FASTENED
Micro-switch do not agree : (1) in cabin door / (2) in cargo door
L & R DC GEN
Dual GEN failure
L & R generators offline
…………………..
1) Instrument Emergency Lights : ON
2) Generators (one by one) : RESET, then ON
if either GEN resets :
3) LOAD : Do not exceed 100% on operating gen
if neither GEN resets :
4) Non-essential equipment : OFF
* Do not close MAN TIES
EFIS approx. 10 min
Engine failure - IN FLIGHT
PF : ‘‘Set MAX power’‘
PM : Engine failure drill
1) COND Lever : FUEL CUTOFF
2) PROP Lever : FEATHER
3) FIREWALL fuel valve : PULL close
4) FIRE Extinguisher : ACTUATE
L : Determine course of action
R : Pax brief + Weather
L : Monitor fuel + Airstart
Engine failure - IN FLIGHT (below Vmca)
1) POWER levers : REDUCE as req. to maintain control
2) ATTITUDE : LOWER nose to accel. above Vmca
