brake failure
- Pump your brakes.
- Apply the emergency parking brake carefully.
- Shift to low gear.
- Blow your horn to let others know that you are in trouble.
- Rub a curb or sideswipe an object rather than hit something head
on, if necessary to avoid a more serious accident.

- Touch the brakes lightly; never “slam” on your brakes, since it is
important to come to a stop gradually, in full control of your vehicle. - Pull off the roadway as soon as it is safe to do so
