Q

What style of seatbelt is on the CT-142?

A

A five point safety harness with a quick release buckle

22
Q

During an emergency, the seat will be in what position?

A

Full down, facing forward and inertia lock engaged

23
Q

What are the AC danger areas?

A

Propeller
Radar
APU

24
Q

What are the dimensions of the radar danger area?

A

100 ft radius

25
Q

What mode must the radar be at until cleared by the pilot?

A

Standby, not in transmit

26
Q

When can the radar be operated on the ground?

A

When the wave guide switch is selected to DUM (Dummy Load)

27
Q

What is the ARTEX C406-N and where is it located?

A

It is an ELT and is mounted on the fuselage in front of tail section

28
Q

What frequencies does the ELT transmit on? How long can it transmit on these frequencies?

A
  1. 5, 243.0 and 406.028 MHz.
  2. 5, 243.0: Min 50 hours
  3. 028: 24 hours
29
Q

How is the ELT activated?

A

When AC is subjected to approximately 2.3 Gs or when manually activated by pilot

30
Q

How many SLB 1000-200 are on board? Where are they?

A

2, one in the basic survival kit and one in the life raft

31
Q

What frequencies do the SLB 1000-200 transmit on? How long do the batteries last?

A

121.5, 243.0 and 406.028 MHz

24 hours @ -40C

32
Q

What does the Engine Fire Detection System do?

A

Provides highly visible warning of fire or overheat in the nacelles

33
Q

What identical and independent systems exist in each nacelle for fire detection?

A

Pneumatic temperature sensor loop
Fire detection control unit
Warning lights and control switches

34
Q

How does the pneumatic temperature sensor loop work?

A

Each loop is gas-filled with a responder unit at each end.
Each responder detects engine fire conditions by sensing the gas pressure in the loop
Fire or heat will cause gas pressure to rise.
Next, fire warning bell and lights will activate in cockpit.

35
Q

When annunciator lights indicate a fire in the engines, what does the pilot do?

A

Pulls the fuel/ hydraulic shut-off handle and selects bottle discharge

36
Q

Two discharge indicator discs are located below the port wing, what do the different colours mean?

A

Yellow: manual discharge (into nacelle)
Red: System over pressurization (into atmosphere)

37
Q

When the detection senses a fire or overheat condition in the APU, what indications occur in the flight deck?

A

Warning light for fire

A light when the fire extinguisher has been fired

38
Q

How do we know a discharge of the APU fire extinguisher has occurred?

A
39
Q

Review Questions
