What is default content?

A

Default content shows if conditions are not meet any of the dynamic content rules in the content block

ex: value is blank or null or not defined

Types of content blocks

A

(1) A/B Test - allows you to create 2 different content areas within an email and track which performs better (can test SLs, email content, from names, content areas, send date & time, PH)
(2) Button - CTA
(3) Code Snippet - save reusable bits of html, AMPScript
(4) Dynamic Content - used to display according to the rules defined based on subscriber attributes
(5) Enhanced Dynamic Content – import into Content Builder using a delimited file containing text & image urls to create an enhanced dynamic content for emails; have to do file upload and data preparation
(6) External Content – reference content from a url (e.g., images in CDN); can choose when to retrieve the content (immediately or at send time with failure protocol)
(7) Free Form – text, image, url
(8) HTML – html paste, choose built in html in SFMC or browse files
(9) Image Block – add images (jpeg, png, svg, gif, AMPScript); not all email clients serve svg
Image Carousel – up to 5 rotating images to auto-rotate every 6 seconds or allow recipient to manually rotate images (only works in app email or iOS mail all other only primary image is shown)

Options to create an email (Content Builder Emails)

A

1 - Template – Choose this option if you already have a template that you’re using for this email.
2 - HTML – Choose this option to type or paste HTML code for an email into the editor.
3 - Text Only – Choose this option if you want to create an email that displays as text only in your subscribers’ inbox regardless of their display preferences. Opens data is never reported for text-only emails.
4 - Existing Email

For preview content personalization options?

A

(1) Based on subscriber preview email will be sent to each recipient and will render based on the selected subscriber’s data
(2) Based on selected DE - All rendering options of the email, based on the list or DE selected from Subscriber Preview, are sent to each recipient. This could result in recipients receiving multiple versions of the same email. Tests all versions of the email.
(3) Based on Recipient Test DE - An email will be sent to each subscriber in the selected recipient test DE. The email will render based on the recipient’s data.

Email Send Flow

A

(1) From Content Builder, select the email you want to Send or in the email select Send from the action column
(2) Select Send
(3) Define properties – edit the SL, PH, from options (choose the sender profile) or saved send classifications
(4) Select audience from a list, group, DE, shared DE, data filters, suppression list, or shared suppression lists; drag & drop recipients in the TARGET box or exclusions/suppressions in EXCLUDED and SUPPRESSED box
(5) Configure delivery – select send timing (send immediately or schedule the send) and select tracking options
(6) Review and send – confirm email send

A

Responsive templates are designed to be responsive, serving up versions of an email that are optimized for a screen. It often involves extra coding or additional template design. When coding a responsive design for email, CSS3 Media Queries are used to activate the mobile version.

A

Spam filtering software to identify words, patterns, and phrases that are likely to trigger spam filters. It also suggests solutions to potential problems. It does not scan HTML code.

Will confirm Correct field syntax, content and data being used for Dynamic Rules are being used correctly, Guide Template Language and AMPScript is being used correctly and also validates for the presence of Unsubscribe link and From Email address.

A

Allows you to see how your email will render with Personalisation strings populated, Dynamic content displaying based on subscriber data, and Guide Template Language and AMPScript will be executed and the data will be displayed or the content will be rendered.

A

Allows you to see how content will render, will send up to 5 email addresses at once, though personalization does not populate, dynamic content displays default content, AMPscript code and Guide Template Language is displayed, and not all links are active.
