The first conflict that sets the plot of the story in motion
“The knight sets off to slay the black knight” -the white knight
Rising action/exposition
A series of conflicts that show plot steadily rising in importance
“HE knight encounters the evidence of the black knights misdeeds” -the white knight
Climax
The most important
“Tessie wins the lottery” -the lottery
Falling action/denouement
After the climax, as the story quickly began to wrap up.
“The knight returns to his castle and removes his armour” -the white knight
Conclusion/ revolution
The final thought, moral or happily ever after
“And his hair grew slowly white, as did his fine full beard and all the people around him called him the good white knight” -the white knight
