What is conlict?
A struggle between two or more forces
What are the main types of conflict?
Man vs. Man: a struggle between two or more characters
Man vs. Nature: a struggle between a character and a force of nature
Man vs. Society: A struggle between a character and his or her society
Man vs. Self: An internal struggle that occurs within a characters own mind
What is the setting?
The time place and circumstances of a story
What is characterization?
The way the author develops the personalities of his or her characters
What are the types of characters?
Flat, Round, Static, Dynamic, Protaganist, and Antagonist
What is a Flat character?
A charcter that is not well developed, the reader knows only one or two of their traits; their personality or importance to the story can be summed up in a sentence or two.
What is a Round charater?
A well developed character, the reader knows many of their traits, they may be complicated; they feel vibrant and real like a peron in real life
What is a Static character?
A character that doesn’t grow and change during the story; their personality and attitude remain the same throughout the story.
What is a Dynamic character?
A character that undergoes growth and change during the story.
What is the Protaganist?
The main character often the good guy or hero in the story. Often the charcter who starts the action.
What is the Antaganist?
A character who works against the protaganist, occasionally the antagonist is a force rather than a character.
What is the Point Of View in the story?
The type of narrator used to tell the story, the perspective from which the story is told.
What is 1st person point of view?
A character usually the main character tells the story. The narrator can only tell what he/she hears,sees, or expiriences. The narrator says I
What is 2nd person point of veiw?
This type of narrator is rarely used. The reader is treated as the main character. the narrator uses the pronoun you.
