What is the Denoument?
The series of events leading up to the ending of the story.
What are the two meanings for the word character?
a) The person in a work of fiction
b) The characteristics of a person
What are the two types of characters?
Rounded & Flat
What does a rounded character mean?
The character has many sided personalities that change for better or worse by the end of the story.
What does a flat character mean?
Characters are stereotypical and have one or two characteristics that never change and are emphasized
What is POV?
The perspective from which the story is told
Define First person.
The story being told through the voice of a specific charecter.
Define Third person limited.
The story being seen through the eyes of one charecter.
Define Omniscient.
The story told by an all knowing narrator
What are the two types of conflict?
External & Internal
What does external conflict mean?
A struggle with a force outside one’s self.
What does internal conflict mean?
A struggle within one’s self such as overcoming pain and resisting urge.
What are all 4 kinds of conflict?
1) human vs human
2) human vs nature
3) human vs society
4) human vs self
