The clients duties automatically transfer to the contractor.
What are a domestic clients duty with more than 1 contractor?
Principle contractor takes on clients duties.
If client does not select a pc then it falls to the contractor responsible for the construction phase.
Can also be transferred to the pd if there is s written agreement between the pd and client.
Commercial client duties with 1 contractor?
Provide pre construction information to designers and contractors.
Notify hse about project if required by completing a form 10.
Ensure construction phase plan prepared.
Arrangement for welfare facilities.
Arrangements for construction to be safely carried out.
Commercial client duties if more than 1 contractor
Appoint pc and pd ensuring they carry out their duties.
Ensure pd produces health and safety file.
Update, maintain and keep the health and safety file.
Principal designer duties
Plan, manage, monitor and coordinate pre construction phase.
Provide relevant information on planning, managing and monitoring to pc.
Prepare h and s file staring during pre construction phase.
