The use of an ECD involves the application of force.
Each additional application of an ECD involves an additional justification.
Subject was tased approximately 5 times. 1-3 applications were with one officer by himself. Afterwards, another officer arrives on scene and subject is tased 2 more times.
*Critical issue-should have cuffed under power
Brooks vs. Seattle (2004)
Female refused to sign citation. Subject refused to exit driver seat and be taken into custody. Subject was drive stunned in thigh (1st), then shoulder (2nd) and back 3rd). 2 officers and 1 Sergeant are on scene.
- Critical issue-Enough Officers on scene to get out without tasing.

Subject was tased and fell and broke his teeth.
- No warning was given

50,000 volts m, but once it completes a circuit it drops to approximately 12 volts

Turn it off and on and it will default to the #1 bay
ECD Optimal Distance
7-15 feet
Spread is 1 foot drop for every 9 feet away
ECD Aftercare
No need to collect aphids (confetti). Put probes in cartridges and book into evidence with wires.
