Electron shells

A

Electrons orbit the nucleus along certain pathways called electron shells
The electrons in the inner most shells have the least amount of energy while the outermost electrons have the highest energy.
Electrons will fill the lowest energy shells first.
The maximum number of electrons in a shell can be calculated by the equation 2n² where n=shell number.
