Electromagnetic Waves Flashcards
Wavelength
The distance between a point on one wave and the same point on the next wave
Speed
Is a measure of how fast an object is moving its the distance travelled per unit time
Trough
The lowest point below the rest position
Frequency
The number of cycles of a waveform passing a specific point in one second
Time period
The time taked for a full cycle of a wave measured
Amplitude
The maximum height or depth of a wave
Peak
The highest point above the rest position
Transverse
vibrations of the particles are perpendicular to the direction of energy transfer.
Longitudinal
The vibrations are in the same direction as the motion of the wave
Mechanical
For prodcuts to move an give an oitput motion, a force or an input motion is required
electromagnetic
Magnetic fields around electric currents
