ECG normal
A
Calcium resonium 15 g PO QID and lactulose 15 mL PO

K >6.5 or ECG changes
A
Calcium gluconate 10% 10 mL over 5 minutes
repeat in 10 minutes if ECG changes persist
Insulin 10 units actrapid + 10% glucose 500 mL Iv over 60-120 min
Salbutamol 10 mg in 4 mL NaCl 0.9% nebs over 10 min

Severe symptomatic hypocalcaemia
A
Calcium gluconate IV 10 mL 10% over 5 ming
or continuous infusion

Oral for hypocalcaemia
A
1-2g elemental
Calcitriol 0.25-1 mcg daily in divided doses

Mild asymptomatic hypokalaemia (3-3.5)
A
Potassium chloride SR (span K) 1-2 tab TDS Potassium effervescent (chlorvescent) 1 tab BD/TDS

Severe/symptomatic hypokalaemia (<3)

40 mmol potassium chloride 3-4 times over 24 hours 6-12 hour K monitoring

Mild/mod hypomagnesaemia 0.5-0.7

Go Magnesium 800 2-3 capsules daily in divided doses
