Electricity extra - LDRs, Thermistors Flashcards
1
Q
What happens to the resistance of a thermistor when the temperature increases? Why?
A
Resistance decreases when temperature increases.
This is because the atoms in the thermistor vibrate more and thus it makes it harder for the charge carriers to pass through the thermistor.
2
Q
What happens to the resistance of an LDR when the light intensity increases?
A
Resistance decreases when light intensity increases.
3
Q
What happens to current under bright light conditions for an LDR?
A
LESS current flows
4
Q
What happens to current under dim light conditions for an LDR?
A
MORE current flows
