Electricity and Penumatics Flashcards
What happens to the current in a Series Circuit?
Current always stays the same in a series circuit
What does a AND gate sybol look like

What does a OR Gate look like?

What does a NOT gate look like?

Name the three points on a transistor.
Emmitter ( Top output )
Collector ( Bottom output )
Base ( left input)

State the function of a resivoir.
A resivior Will cause a delay as it will take a certian amount of time for the tank to fill.
What Equation would be used to calculate the resistance in a parallel circuit where there is more than 2 resistors.

What is the energy change in an electrical torch?
Electrical to light
What is the energy change in a solar panel?
Light to Electricity
What is the energy change in a Car engine to wheels.
Chemical to kinetic
what is the equation for work done?
Work done = Force Applied x Distance Moved
What is the pneumatic symbol for main air?

What is the symbol for exaust air?

Describe why this actuator has the name “ 3/2 push button actuated spring return vavle”, ensure you have expalined about every section of the name.

This valve gets it’s name as there are three ports and two possible states, the actuator is activated by a push button, the actuator is then automaticly closed by the spring hence “ spring return” valve.
What does a solenoid actuator look like?

Why would hydrolics be used over pneumatics?
Hydrolics can applie far more force than pneumatcis can and this can have much more uses. The reason for it being stronger is that liquide cannot be compressed.
Why would pneumatics be used over hydrolics?
Penumatics is not as powerful as hydrolics although pneumatics is not as dangerous and is very clean. If there is a leakage then only air will be released ino the suroundings.
What is the equation to firgure out the outstroke force for of a single acting cylinder?
Area = πr²
Force = Pressure x Area
What is the equations that can be used to figure out the force of a double acting cylinder while instroking.
Area of clylinder = πr²
Total Area = area of cylinder - area of rod
Area Total
Force = Area x Pressure
What is the symbol for a unidirectional flow control valve
