Electricity Flashcards
What is the unit of Current?
A ampere
What is the unit of Charge?
C coulomb
What is the unit of Energy?
J joules
What is Ω for?
ohm resistant
What is the relationship between power, current and voltage? (full word formula)
power = current x voltage
What is current?
The rate if flow of charge round the circuit.
What does electrons do?
Carry the charge.
What is voltage?
What drives the current round the circuit.
What is resistance?
Anything in the circuit that slows the flow of charge
What is the relationship between voltage and resistance?
The voltage is pushing the the current around the circuit while resistacne is opposing it.
If you ______ the voltage, the more current will flow.
increase
If you increase the resistance , the _____ current will flow.
less
What is the difference between sries circuit and parallel circuit? (components)(current)
In series circuit, components are connected in a line while in parallel circuit they are seperate. If you remove one component from the sries circuitm, the circuit will break down but if you do the same to the parallel circuit, it won’t.
What is the relationship between charge, current and time? (full words formula)
charge = current x time
What is the relationship between energy transferred, charge and voltage?
energy transferred = charge x voltage
What is the relationship between energy transferred, charge, current and resistance?
energy transferred = charge x current x resistance
resistance decrease—-> voltage and current will x
x= increase
resistance decrease—-> light bulb will x
x= lighter
voltage = current x ?
?= resistance
when more charge passes around a circuit, a ___current flow
bigger
if the circuit is parallel, the voltage is ___
same
what does resistance measure
measure how difficult the current flows
what is this—–(X)——-
light bulb
what is this——-(A)——
ammeter
what is this——(V)——
voltmeter
