Electricity Flashcards
Electron
negatively charged particle of an atom.
Static Electricity
a stationary electric charge, attracting from dust or air.
Proton
A positively charged particle of an atom.
Nucleus
The center of an atom containing protons and neutrons.
Neutron
A neutrally charged particle of an atom. No charge.
Shell
The outside part of an atom containing electrons.
Series circuit
A circuit in which an electric current only has 1 direction to flow.
Parallel circuit
A circuit in which an electric current has more than 1 direction to flow
Voltage
“V” How much electric current is flowing and how much power it has.
Current
“Amp” or “A”
Ohms Law
states that the current in a circuit equals the voltage difference divided by the resistance
Resistance
Ohm. tendency of a current to hold back.
