Electricity Flashcards
What is Electricity
a flow of electrons from place to place
What is the Current?
a continuous flow of electron , measured in ampers
What is Voltage?
the difference in electrical potential in a circuit. measured in volts
What is resistance?
opposition to the flow of a current.
What is the Ohms law?
V equals I times R
What are the different types of circuits?
Series
Parallel
Complex
What is the Series Circuit?
Only one continuous path for the electricity to travel through
What is a parallel?
multiple paths for the electricity to take
What are the factors that affect Resistance?
Diameter of the wire D up resistance down
Length of Wire L down R down
Temperature of Wire T down R down
Type of wire material
What is wavelength?
A distance from identical parts of a wave
What is the frequency?
The rate at which something occurs or repeated.
What is amplitude?
Height to rest portion
What is the polarizing filters?
90’ angles that create lines in an area
What is the Doppler Effect?
The apparent change in frequency of a wave as the source moves in relation to the observer
What is resonance?
When an object is struck by a wave that matches it’s natural frequency the object will vibrate
