Electricity Flashcards
What moves through a conductor when a current flows through it?
Electrons
What is electrical current defined as?
The electric charge transferred per unit time.
Where is an ammeter placed in a circuit to measure the current going through it? In series or in parallel?
In Series
What is the difference between the flow of electrons from in AC and DC?
In AC, electrons periodically change direction, oscillating back and forth. In DC, electrons flow steadily in one direction.
What do AC and DC stand for?
Alternating current and direct current.
What is the difference between voltage levels in AC and DC?
In AC, voltage fluctuates in a sinusoidal pattern, constantly changing in magnitude and direction. In DC, the voltage is constant.
