Electricity Flashcards
1
Q
What happens when resistors are connected in a series?
A
The current through each resistor is the same and the total voltage (or potential difference) across all the resistors is equal to the sum of the voltages across each resistor
2
Q
What happens when resistors are connected in a parallel circuit?
A
The supply current is equal to the sum of the currents through each resistor and they have the same potential difference across them
3
Q
How do you calculate 2 resistors in a parallel circuit, what equation?
A
1/R = 1/R1 + 1/R2
