Electricity Flashcards
Voltage
Voltage is the energy supplied per coulomb
Static electricity
Static Electricty is due to the electrical charge taht builds up on the surface of an insulator
Current
Current is the flow of electrons in a second
A.C. And D.C
Direct Current is when current flows in one direction and An alternating current is a current that continualy changes direction
Circuit
Series= in one path
parallel=more than one path
Resistance
Resistance is the opposite to the flow of current
Does resistance increase or decrease in parallel?
When connected in Parallel the total resistance decreases
Power
Energy is not created or destroyed it is changed from one type into another.
Power is measured in Watts, W
Fuse
The Purpose of a fuse is to protect the flex from overheating
Does kinetic energy increase or decrease when temp decreases?
Kinetic energy only decreases if temp decreases
Voltage supply
V2=(R2/R1+R2)*Voltage supply or Vs
Voltage
V=I*R
LED
LED produce more light and less heat than filament lamps
Power
P=I*V
