Electrical System Flashcards
General description of components:
Storage: Two 24v batteries (one of them is two 12v batteries in series(
Generation: two alternators.
ALT 1 is gear driven (g6 sr20) 100amp, 28v
ALT 2 is belt driven (g6sr20) 70amp, 28.75v
Distribution consists of: Main bus 1,2 and Essential bus which are housed in the Master control unit (MCU)
Circuit breakers, Voltage suppressors/regulators and electrical diodes.
What do the voltage regulators do?
They regulate Alt 1 voltage to 28v and Alt 2 voltage to 28.75v.
What happens if over voltage occurs?
The MCU has a voltage suppressor which will take the ALT offline when voltage exceeds approx. 32v
Explain the general flow of electricity:
Alt 2 will power Main bus 2 and the Essential bus
Alt 1 will power Main bus 1 only
What is on Main bus 1? and where does it get its power?
A/C, Fan, Landing light, EVS camera, convenience outlet, MFD A
ALT 1
What is on Main Bus 2? and where does it get its power?
Starter, avionics fan 1, lights, pitot heat, flaps,
Avionics, ice lights, Stdby attitude B, MFD B, cabin lights, Fuel qty, AP servos, keypad and cabin air control
Avionics Fan 2, GPS/NAV GIA 2, Com 2, ADAHRS 2, Fuel pump, PFD B
ALT 2
What is on the essential bus? where does it get its power?
Bat 2, GPS/NAV GIA 1, Com 1, ADAHRS 1, Stndby attitude A, PFD A, Engine inst, stall warning, trim, Alt 2
Alt 2 and Bat 2
What does an electrical diode do?
allows electricity to flow only one way
