Current is series is ….
Same everywhere - current can only follow one path
Current in parallel is
Current drawn from the supply is equal to the sum of the current in the separate branches
Potential difference in series
The sum of potential difference across individual components is equal to the potential difference across the supply
Potential difference in parallel
The potential difference across each branch is equal to the potential difference across the supply
Resistance in series
Total resistance is equal to the sun or the individual resistors. Adding more resistors in series increases the total resistance
Resistance in parallel
Adding more resistors in parallel decreases the total resistance
The total resistance is always less than the smallest individual resistance in the circuit
