2. The bill proposes four qualifying dates (the first day of the months - January, April, July and October) for updating the voting rolls for those who have turned 18
3. registration of ‘wives of service voters’ will now be replaced by ‘spouse’. making it gender neutral
4. Furnishing Aadhar details is not mandatory and those who cannot furnish due to relevant reasons(given by govt) can give alternative documents

1. The linking of Aadhaar with voter IDs violates the fundamental right to privacy as provided by the Supreme Court of India in Puttaswamy case.
2. Linking Aadhaar and IDs might enable non-citizens to vote.
3. Though, linking will not lead to identification of voting choices, but there is a concern that it will lead to profiling
