Q

What are the standard stall recovery actions?

A

a. Simultaneously:
(1) Unload - Move control column forward to reduce AOA and eliminate the buffet.
(2) Full Power.
(3) Wings Level. Use aileron but avoid re-stalling the wing.

b. Climb. As power bites, smoothly select a climbing attitude. Do not re-enter buffet.
c. Clean up. With a positive ROC on both the main altimeter and VSI selected gear and flap up. Check: “GearUp, Flap Up and Captions Clear by 200kts”.

17
Q

What are the standard spin recovery actions?

A

Simultaneously
1 -check height,
2 - select idle,
3 - centralise controls, and check TPI zero.

When the spin stops, roll to the nearest horizon and ease out of the dive on the light buffet.

(A common error is to call the height out first, before centralising the controls. This in effect delays the recovery and increases the height lost. The actions should be carried out simultaneously;it is the centralisation of the controls that will stop the spin.)

18
Q

At what height would you eject if the aircraft is still spinning?

A

5000ft AGL

19
