EKG and Cardiovascular Testing Flashcards
What does the U wave represent?
Not always visible but represents a repolarization of the bundle of HIS and Purkinje Fibers.
What does the P-R interval represent?
It represents the time it takes from the beginning of atrial depolarization to the beginning of ventricular depolarization.
What does the QT interval represent?
It represents the time it takes from the beginning of ventricular depolarization to the end of ventricular repolarization.
What does the ST segment represent?
It represents the time from the end of ventricular depolarization to the beginning of ventricular repolarization.
What typically happens when you have a interrupted baseline?
Check to make sure the leads and wires are unplugged or disconnected.
What is Tachycardia and Bradycardia?
Tachycardia reflects a heart rate greater than 100/min.
Bradycardia is a normal EKG tracing of heart rate less than 60/min.
