EKG Flashcards
1
Q
How can you determine LAD on an EKG?
A
1) II and avF are negative
2) I and aVL are positive
2
Q
What is a characteristic to distinguish LAFB on EKG?
A
- -prolonged R-wave peak time in aVL (>45 msec) (1.5 tiny boxes)
- -qRs in I and aVL
- -rSs in II, III, aVF
3
Q
What are the characteristics of distinguishing LBBB on EKG?
A
- -QRS 120ms
- -WiLLiaM (w in v1, M in v6)
4
Q
What is voltage criteria for LVH?
A
- -S in V1 + R in V6 >35
- -R in aVL > 11
- -TWI in V5-V6, I, aVL (from left ventricular strain; NOT seen in LAFB although LAFB can meet voltage criteria)
5
Q
What are the causes of LAD?
A
1) LAFB
2) LBBB
3) LVH
4) Inferior MI
5) ventricular ectopy
6) paced rhythm
7) WPW
