EIGRP Cheat Sheet Flashcards
What type of protocol is EIGRP?
Distance Vector
What type of algorithm does EIGRP use?
Diffusing update algorithm (DUAL)
Summary AD of EIGRP
5
What type of standard is EIGRP
It is Cisco proprietary
What type of authentication does EIGRP use
MD5
What is the multicast IP address of EIGRP
224.0.0.10
Hello & Hold timers for high bandwidth multipoint links and low bandwidth multipoint links
Hello Timers: 5(high), 60(low)
Hold: 15(High), 180(low)
in seconds
Sends hello packets every __ sec. (hello timers)
K defaults for EIGRP
K1 K2 K3 K4 K5
1 0 1 0 0
What is feasible distance and advertised/reported distance for EIGRP?
Feasible distance is the total distance to get to destination.
Advertised/reported is how far destination is based on what neighbor says(basically, not including the cost it takes to get to the neighbor)
What do you call the best path and the backup path in EIGRP
Best: successor
Backup: feasible successor
What are the metrics for EIGRP, which are static/dynamic and which are enabled by default
Bandwidth, delay, load and reliability
Bandwidth/delay are static and are also enabled by default
Load/reliability are dynamic and are disabled by default.
What needs to be correct (with successor, feasible successor, the feasible distance and multiplier) for load-balance to work
The feasible successor needs to have a lower advertised distance than the (successor x multiplier/variance)
What does each K-value stand for?
K1: Bandwidth K2: Load K3: Delay K4: Reliability K5: MTU
