Q

EIGRP reported (advertised) distance

A

the metric advertised by the neighboring router for a specific route. This is the metric of the route used by the neighboring router to reach that specific destionation network.

16
Q

EIGRP feasible distance

A

the local router’s metric of the best route to reach a specific network. The metric is calculated using the metric reported by the neighbor (the advertised distance) plus the metric to the neighbor reporting the route. The route with the lowest FD will be placed in the routing table

17
Q

EIGRP Stuck in Active (SIA)

A

The SIA state means that an EIGRP router has not received a reply to a query from one or more neighbors within the time allotted (approximately 3 minutes). When this happens, EIGRP clears the neighbors that did not send a reply and logs a DUAL-3-SIA error message for the route that went active.

18
Q

EIGRP passive interface

A

an interface which does not participate in EIGRP but whose network is advertised

19
Q

EIGRP stub router

A

a router that advertises but is omitted from route query process

20
Q

What are the tree tables EIGRP uses

A

Neighbor, Topology, Routing

21
Q

What has to happen for a route to be considered as a feasible successor in EIGRP

A

Advertised route must be less than the feasible distance of the successor

22
Q

What is a successor?

A

Primary route stored in routing table

23
Q

What is feasible successor

A

Back-up route stored in topology table

24
Q

What is Feasible distance

A

How far a network is from YOU

25
Q

What is Advertised distance

A

How far a network is from your NEIGHBOR

26
Q

EIGRP multicast address

A

224.0.0.10

27
Q

What protocol does EIGRP use

A

RTP, reliable transport protocol
