a story or message; in art, often in visual form
relief
in art, a sculpture or carving that remains attached to a backing surface
high relief - sculptures extend far enough to be reached around
low relief - sculptures remained fully attached to backing surface
stylized
in a consistent but non-realistic manner
(pharaonic art depicts people tall, straight-backed, and from the side in a consistently stylized manner)
canon of proportions
a set of consistent mathematical proportions governing artistic renditions of people or other subjects
