How did the Nile River contribute to the growth/development of Egypt?
The Nile provided ancient Egypt with fertile soil and water for irrigation, as well as a means of transporting materials for building projects. The floods left behind a layer of fresh silt.

The pharoah controlled Eygpt, so people saw him as a god-king.
Nobles/Priests/Officials
They help the pharaoh govern Egypt.

Kept records for Egypt’s bureaucracy.
Merchants/Artisans
They make up the middle level. Painters, stonecutters, and builders spent their lives wokring on temples and tombs.
Farmers/Servants/Slaves
Farmers raised Egypt’s food. Slaves were prisoners of war. They had to do forced labor.

People believed pharaohs were a god on earth. People obeyed the pharoah for fear of angering a god.

To be a coffin for inhumation burials.

They used Hieroglyphics. It was drawings or symbols that represented words or sounds.
What items were traded from Egypt to Kush?
Egypt traded wheat, barley and linen.
What items were traded from Kush to Egypt?
Kush traded gold, ivory, ebony, spices and exotic animals.
What were some achievements of the Kush civilization?
It developed its own system of writing, economy and government.
