Rotation: the act of spinning around an axis; for example, how the
Earth spins on its axis.
Revolution: the movement of one object around another; for example,
how the Earth travels around the Sun.
Axis: an imaginary line that an object rotates around; for example, the
Earth's axis runs from the North Pole to the South Pole.
Gravity: the force that pulls objects toward each other; for example,
gravity keeps us on the ground and pulls objects down.
Equator: an imaginary line that divides the Earth into the Northern and
Southern Hemispheres; it is located halfway between the North and
South Poles.
Orbit: the curved path that an object takes as it moves around another
object in space; for example, the path the Earth takes around the Sun.
Exert: to apply or bring something into use; for example, to exert force
means to push or pull with strength.
