Rates of pay-quite simply, unions & employees will want to maximise pay & employers will attempt to keep labour costs down.
Introducing machinery-machinery often results in redundancies & employees may have to be re-trained which can act as a burden.
Flexible working-a firm may want employees to work on inconvenient times e.g. Night shifts & employees may be unwilling.
Work conditions-unions & employees may push for the best facilities possible where as employers may see this as an unnecessary cost.
