Define: Sender
The source of the communication, formulated the message and starts the conversation process by encoding the information into language and symbols
Define: Receiver
Gets the message, decodes it, must interpret it’s meaning. Only when the receiver has understood the message can true communication take place
Define: Message
Conveyed information, emotions that give the words meaning
Define: Transmission medium
The pathway by which the message flows. Can be electronic, verbal, or non-verbal
Define: Feedback
The element of communication that confirms the message has been received and understood
