Edward forced John to give his judgement on the Macduff case, sept 1293, when John arrived at Westminster he tried to argue that Edward had no right to hear.
Was humiliating as he was summoned to Westminster again which showed Edward was superior king, he was mad at John for challenging him and threatened him to charge him with contempt of court and confiscate important Scottish castles
