how was edward a minority king?
Henry was worried about Edward’s minority and used his will to appoint a Regency Council to help Edward to rule. People in England were concerned that a child would be incapable of ruling and easily influenced by those around him. They were worried it would cause instability. Edward would not be able to lead troops into war or deal with threats from foreign powers and within his own country.

Somerset’s time in office had a clear focus on avoiding riots and rebellion rather than helping the poor or solving economic issues.
Three proclamations from 1548 were aimed at maintaining law and order specifically. A ban on violent sport was rigorously enforced in the grounds that they might end in riots and disorder. It also become an offence to spread rumours, as they were likely to create unrest. Finally, all unlawful assemblies were forbidden.
Anyone found guilty of these offences was to be sent, for varying periods, to the
