Who did the Nazis see as a valuable resource to the regime?
They saw the children as a valuable recourse that can be educated to become loyal Nazis. So In order to ensure this happened, they changed what was taught and who taught it.

The state school structure remained with the abolishment of private primary school education. However fee paying universities and secondary schools remained, however they emphasised more physical fitness

It ran courses that teachers had to attend and absorb the information they were expected to teach. By 1938 - 2/3 of all teachers attended these courses
Why was teaching becoming less popular under the nazi regime?
Despite wanting to use the schools to indoctrinate children, the Nazis were anti intellectual so teachers were not shown much respect from the administration or the pupils. In 1938 there were 8000 teaching vacancies and only 2500 new teachers qualified.

They had to massively change the curriculum. 1935 onwards there was a stream of central directives that covered all years in education and all subjects. There was a 15% increase in sport in the curriculum. History was focused in creating a Volksgemeinschaft as well as being based on the glory of Germany as nationalism was essential.

Some textbooks were censored, some were burned, some multilated. Booklets were introduced to support the new ares of the curriculum such as booklets for race studies which explained how Aryan’s are the superior race and how Jews are the source of all evil

Biology focused on race and eugenics and motherhood for girls

They had scenarios of nazi ideologies with math in them. For example, how much money could Germany save if we didn’t have to pay support for the mentally ill.
