An undergraduate
somebody who is studing for their first degree at university or college
A graduate
somebody who has a first degree from a university or college
A postgraduate
somebody who has a first degree an is now studying for a higher degree
A module
one part of a university or college course
An essay
a short piece of writing on a particular subject (ensayo)
An assignment
a piece of work given to someone as part of their studies or job (encargo, asignacion)
A dissertation
a long piece of writing on a particular subject (Tesís)
A mark
a number or letter thar shows how good someones’s work is (nota)
Continuous assessment
a system where the student’s work is judged on various pieces of work, not one final exam (evaluación continua)
A progress report
a document saying if a student is improving
A tutor
a teacher who works with one student or a small group of students
A lecture
a talk on a subject, specially at university or college (conferencia, discurso, clase)
Fees
the amount of money you pay to go to a private school, university, etc (cargos, cuotas)
A student loan
the money that a student borrows from a bank while at university or college
A scholarship
an amount of money paid by a shcool, university, etc, to a student who has a lot of abillity, but not much money (beca)
