Q

What is the Tech. Spec. minimum level for the EDG Fuel oil day tank?

A

.101.4gal indicated = 70gal usable. This gives the diesel enough fuel to start and power the electric fuel pumps to start supplying the diesel.

Q

What happens if you have the EDG’s in standby and you suffer a load shed followed by an SI?

A

A load shed occurs.
EDG starts and the feeder breaker from the RCP bus to the T-bus opens.
When the EDG reaches 95% speed and 80% voltage, the EDG output breaker closes.
The load shed clears and loads sequence on: CCW,
ESW, Motor Driven Aux Feed Pump, and NESW

SI occurs
Load conservation occurs (pumps already started trip)
ECCS pumps start: CCPs, SI, RHR as well as CCW, ESW, AFW, NESW
If a Containment spray signal exists the NESW pp. would trip and the CTS pp. would start.
