Eczematous disorder in children 3yo to puberty. rarely to adult.
begins as patchy symm smooth red glazed patch on base or medial surface of great toes sometimes w fissuring and desquamation.
spares interdigital spaces.
evolve inti red scaling patches inv weight bearing and frictional areas of feet, usually symmetrically.
skin ends up like parchment paper and it fissures easily.
forefoot more involved than heel.
caused by repeated maceration of feet due to occlusive shoes often worn without socks.
Tx avoidance of maceratioj, foot powder. keerpt foot dry. steroid limited value.
