International council of Christians and Jews
It was founded in 1946 after the holocaust and aims to encourage interfaith dialogue and understanding between Jews and Christians. In 1947 there was an emergency conference about antisemitism and it was one of the first public attempts by Christians to come to terms with the holocaust.
progress of the ecumenical movement
the ecumenical movement is in a transitioning period. We can acknowledge the good fruits of the ecumenical dialogue, in the rediscovery of Christian brotherhood among the members of different Christian denominations , which no longer consider each other as enemies or competitors but as brothers and sisters in christ on the common pilgrimage towards full communions. However, we can’t overlook the theological, political and institutional critique of the ecumenical movement
