ECS Flashcards
What bus powers the ECS?
The battery essential bus
What systems are includes in the ECS?
The air cycle system, distribution system, and control system
What happens when you pull the Firewall Shutoff Valve Handle?
It isolates the system in emergency conditions and opens the ram air scoop on the right fuselage underside which introduces ambient ventilation air through the distribution system
When are P2.5 and P3 air used?
P2.5 is used during normal operation and P3 is used during idle operation
What temperatures does the Temperature Control System maintain cabin temperature between when on AUTO?
18C to 30C
What is the caution regarding operating the Temperature Control System in MANUAL?
The system maximim and minimum temperature limits are disabled and there is a possibility of damaging the system by setting outlet temperatures outside these limits
What are the four scenarios that the ECS will automatically shutdown?
- Pressures greater than 40 psi are sensed in the bleed air line downstream of the Flow control venturi
- Temperatures greater than 290*C in the bleed line upstream of the Primary Shutoff Valve
- Temperatures greater than 105*C are sensed in the air line down stream of the water separator
- The firewall Shutoff Valve is closed
When does the heater element of the under-floor heating unit turn on and off when in AUTO?
It turns on below 5C and turns off above 11C
What is the under-floor heating unit dedicated to?
To heating the under-floor avionics bay
