Q

How is Epping Forest managed?

A
  1. Car parks, visitor centre, waste bins, designated paths, information leaflets advising people on how to treat the forest. Ensuring the forest will be left the same way for future generations to enjoy.
  2. Vegetation at the side of the roads has been cut back so that deer are aware of traffic as there are many deaths from road traffic accidents. Ensures that the deer population will be preserved.
  3. Pollarding – trees are cut shorter to ensure that they regrow. Ensures there will be timber for future generations.
  4. The Epping forest conservation volunteers manage the forest by clearing and maintaining footpaths. Ensures vegetation is not trampled and killed

17
Q

What is low pressure?

A

At times of low pressure, the air is usually rising. As the air rises, it cools, condenses and forms clouds. Areas of low pressure are known as depressions.

18
Q

What is high pressure?

A

Cooler air that is sinking.
