Ecosystem
An ecosystem is made up of all the living organisms in a llace, interacting with eachother, and their non-living surroundings
Habitat
A habitata is the place where an organism lives. It must provide food, shelter, and a place to reproduce
Adaption
An adaption is a feature that organisms have to help them live in a particular place
Biotic
Biotic factors are the living components of an ecosystem
Abiotic
Abiotic factors are the non living components of an ecosystem
True or false, planet earth is an ecosystem
True
What is a community in ecosystems?
A community is the interaction between populations of different organisms in a specific area
Bioaccumulatiom
the build up of persistentor non-biodegradable pollutants without an organism or trophic level because they cannot be broken down
Producers
green plants - they make glucose during photosynthesis
Primary conumers
Usually eat plant material - they are herbivores. For example rabbits, caterpillars, coss and sheep
Secondary consumers
Usually eat animal material - they are carnivores. For example cats, dogs and lions
Predators
Kill for food. They are either secondary or teritary consumers
Prey
The animals that predators feed on
Scavengers
Feed on dead animals. For example crows vultures and hyenas
Decomposers
Feed on dead and decaying organisms, and on the undigestedparts of plant and animal matter in faeces
